We have search through the archives to bring you our top twenty five hits from the crypt, which will certainly raise your party from the dead! So without further ado, let’s get into it…
Michael Jackson – Thriller
The ultimate Halloween party classic, Michael Jackson’s monster hit ‘Thriller’ is the first track that comes to mind whenever putting together a collection of Halloween songs. Essential.
Ghostbusters Theme
The second most requested Halloween song in the Partyrama office, the Ghostbusters theme is possibly the most fun you can have on a dancefloor. WHO YOU GONNA CALL?!!
Backstreet Boys – Everybody (Backstreet’s Back)
Everyone remembers this boy band classic and it’s epic video where the guys turned into werewolves. Great fun to stomp around to in costume, and has stood the test of time superbly well. Classic!
The Automatic – Monster
For all those who are dressed up as monsters, this track is great for showing off all of your monster moves!
Screamin’ Jay Hawkins – I Put A Spell On You
Slow down the pace a little with this absolute classic – hip hop heads may recognise the horns as used in The Notorious BIG’s ‘Kick In The Door’. This one is for all the witches casting spells on the men on the dancefloor…
Kernkraft 400 – Zombie Nation
ZOMBIE… ZOMBIE NATION! Need we say more?
Rockwell – Somebody’s Watching Me
Another classic that is always on rotation at Partyrama HQ close to Halloween time, if this haunting song isn’t on your horror party playlist, you’re doing it wrong!
White Town – Your Woman
While not traditionally considered a Halloween song, we always like to dig this track out – the haunting strings and horns in the intro combine with a fun and funky tempo. Subtle and spooky!
Madness – One Step Beyond
IT’S THE HEAVY HEAVY MONSTER SOUND!!! Great fun to dance like a lunatic to!
Rocky Horror Picture Show – Time Warp
The classic song from the movie, Time Warp is another hit horror song that should never be left off the Halloween music list. Re-enact the scene from the movie!
John Murphy – In The House, In A Heartbeat
Dark, murky and seriously good… this dramatic piece of music from composer John Murphy really sets the mood at your party if you’re looking for a more sinister tone. Ooooft!
Meat Loaf – I Would Do Anything For Love (But I Won’t Do That)
Everyone remembers the classic video of this number 1 hit single from the 90s… Meat Loaf looking particular gothic (what’s new?!! hehe) – the song plays out like Frankenstein meets Grease, and is a must for your spooky selection!
The Prodigy – Spitfire
Another less than traditional option, but play this stompy Prodigy song and watch all the monsters in the crowd get down! So much fun in fancy dress!
Kanye West – Monster
Epic.
Pendulum & DJ Fresh – Kingston Vampires
We were going to draw for Pendulum’s hit ‘Tarantula’, but instead we went for the lesser known collaboration with DJ Fresh (of Bad Company fame). This is how fun, bouncy and clever party drum & bass should be done!
The Rolling Stones – Sympathy For The Devil
Get your Dad onto the dancefloor with this classic, and have sympathy for his drunken dancing. A classic for the older generation!
Jimi Hendrix – Voodoo Child
Possibly one of the greatest guitar riffs in the history of everything, show your monsters how to get rowdy playing air guitar!
Annie Lennox – Love Song For A Vampire
Annie Lennox. Ballad. Vampires. Perfect. Drop this and have a quick slow song with your blood sucking bae.
Jamiroquai – Deeper Underground
Channel your inner Godzilla and have a ROAAAAR with this classic from the movie soundtrack. Heavyweight!
Carl Orff – O Fortuna
Possibly the most powerful and scariest song ever. Freak out the kids with this (mwahahahaha!).
Marilyn Manson – The Beautiful People
The gothic metal anthem. Not everyone’s cup of tea but for pure, unadulterated, guitar smashing fun, you can’t get much better than this!
Method Man & Redman – Cereal Killer
Great fun to dance to, even if you don’t know the words. Not the most family friendly, so don’t play this at your kids party, but for consenting adults and hip hop heads this track works great.
Saw Theme (Hello Zepp)
I WANNA PLAY A GAME. The main theme song from the Saw movies, this moody piece of soundtrack music is a great addition to any playlist of horrors!
Konflict – Messiah
Finally, for all the drum & bass lovers out there – the biggest and scariest tune of them all. Play this and watch everyone recoil in terror. If the devil was a piece of music, this would be it!
